Merrill Gilfillan’s chap book, Would-Be Dogwood, shows that he is a masterful poet, able to compress/create experience in almost impossibly rich stanzas. Do yourself a favor and pick this up.
Gilfillan is the author of a dozen books of poetry, two collections of stories, and several books of essays. His river drawings were published in Distant Rivers (Prairie Rose Press, 2012).
